Shu Puer "Dense Forest"
Volume
In the tea region of Xiao Jingu, at an altitude of about 2000 meters above sea level, there is an amazing place with the poetic name of “The Dense Forest”.... It is there, in the tea garden that was established in the first half of the 20th century, grow trees of bizarre shape, which are called “rattan” - because of the special shape of the shoots. They are transformed into long ornate twigs thanks to the method of harvesting - when all but the last leaf on a branch is collected.
Such an atmospheric name is associated with a special terroir flavor, which is fully expressed in the character of Xiao Jingu tea: forest notes and medicinal herbs, and an expressive, specific bitterness.
The tea is made according to the classical technology of fermentation in a large volume, with a high degree of fermentation - this method allows to balance the very bitterness characteristic of the region and to obtain a dense, thick infusion and bright flavor, as well as creates the potential for long-term storage and collection.
It has all the qualities one appreciates in a noble pu'erh tea: no dry mouthfeel, pure bitterness transforms into sweetness (Hui gan), and the infusion slips easily down the throat like silk, leaving a sweetness (Sheng Jing). All this is a testament to the high quality of the raw materials and quality processing, which influenced the formation of a special flavor.
